Recover and Live On

Funded by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we bring together university, community, and government partners around intervention programs with the greatest potential for impact. We promote and perform equity-centered, actionable research, training, and outreach to reduce injuries, violence, and their impact on people in Philadelphia and around the world.

Focus Areas

Our scholars study and practice across many focus areas to prevent injury on multiple levels: “stop it” from happening in the first place, “fix it” once it has happened, and “live on” by minimizing long-term impacts and risk of re-injury.

The Latest

At Our Core

The Penn Injury Science Center carries out Research, Training & Education, and Outreach to reduce the burden of injuries and violence on individuals and populations. The activities in these three cores are guided by equity-centered implementation, to proactively identify and change factors that lead to health inequities.
