Assessing The Impact Of State Policies For Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs On High-Risk Opioid


Through the analysis of insurance databases, PISC Senior Scholar Zachary F. Meisel investigates the use of prescription drug monitoring programs and their effectiveness -- the study found that comprehensive use mandates implemented during 2011 and 2015 were associated with a 6–9 percent reduction in opioid prescriptions with high risk for misuse and overdose, amongst other characteristics.
