Learning to Drive: A Reconceptualization

Authored by Jessica Mirmana, PISC Senior Scholar Allison Curry, and Daniel Mirmana, this study evaluates frameworks that account for changes in novice drivers' crash risks. It examines the tendency of novice drivers' crash risks to change abruptly and not incrementally, and concludes that these gradual phase changes can be induced through greater intervention for learning drivers.
