Firearm Injuries and Children: A Position Statement of the American Pediatric Surgical Association


The American Pediatric Surgical Association, otherwise known as the APSA, is a group dedicated to sharing surgical standards and quality of care, supporting its members, and advocating for the well-being and safety of children. In light of these standards, the APSA has recently released a position statement regarding firearm injuries and their impact on the lives of children who visit trauma centers for care. The statement describes the APSA's view on firearm injury prevention, firearm policy, and other initiatives.
