The Impact of Interhospital Transfer on Mortality Benchmarking at Level III and IV Trauma Centers

 

The influence of benchmarking at level III/IV trauma centers are analyzed in a study lead by PISC Executive Board member Daniel Holena, along with PISC Executive Director Douglas Wiebe, PISC Senior Scholars Kit Delgado, Elinore Kaufman, and Advisory Board member Brendan Carr . Holena et. al conducted a retrospective study of adult patients presenting to level III/IV trauma centers in Pennsylvania from 2008-2017 looking at observed to expected (O:E) mortality ratios and their influence by the location at which mortality is measured in transferred patients.
