Anish Agarwal, MD, MPH, MS is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests lay at the intersection of emergency care, digital health, and workforce well-being. 

Dr. Agarwal’s work has been published in JAMA, NEJM, Annals of Emergency Medicine, Circulation, Resuscitation, and more. His work has been featured throughout the region and nation, amplified by news outlets such as NPR and the NY Times.

He attended Tufts University as an undergraduate and went on to complete his medical and public health training at the Tufts University School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed his emergency medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Agarwal has completed health services research fellowship in the National Clinicians Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He now is the director of the Penn EM research fellowship and the health system’s Center for Insights to Outcomes.
