Equity
Health equity is a driving force in all our work. We know that injuries are not “accidents” like they are often called. Instead, injuries and violence occur in patterns that overlap with systems of oppression, disinvestment, and disempowerment. Our research looks for changes and solutions to correct the health problems that systems have created.
We believe that genuine community engagement is a key to achieving health equity, which is why we support the REACH Initiative (Research & Equity in Academic-Community Partnerships for Health) in helping academics and community partners create more equitable research partnerships.
